I am a pilgrim, a sojourner and sometimes a “stranger in a foreign land.” Some journeys, I chose and made for a specific purpose, others occurred because I was “sent.” Going there usually involved responsibility, accomplish some purpose. But being there was different – an opportunity to explore, engage, experience, learn other ways of seeing. Always taking along my culture and my past, never the less, there have been opportunities to walk through passage ways into “totally different other.” I have been invited to look and see differently, to become and do differently, to question and hear differently. Frequently, it has been a brand new world, something like Alice in Kansas. Before my first camera, I registered memories of sights, sounds, smells, tastes, colors, shapes and textures. In 1969, when I started using a camera, I added selecting and photographing images to my memories. This collection of images represents some of the places, people and things that I experienced in locations where I found myself. For most of the images, I remember where I was and some of the circumstances present at that time and in that place. I hope seeing these images stimulate “looking anew” at things that seem very familiar and at things that are not at all familiar, even strange. The purpose of this web site is for me to share some of what I have seen and experienced with those of you who are interested. Enjoy!
